Congratulations once again to these fantastic clubs!
Cheltenham Motor Club - CAMRA Club of the Year 2022 South West Super Winners
Neil Way - Bar Manager/Bar Steward of the Year.
The recently modernised bar area has a great atmosphere - prices for anything from a hot drink to a pint of the best you can get are all very reasonable.
Anyone visiting the club on more than three occasions will be asked to take ‘Associate’ membership.
It isn’t just us raving about the club. Neil, our resident Steward, has been with us since 2005 and, with the support of the club’s management committee, we have been CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) Club of the Year in 2013, 2017 and 2020.
There are 28,000 licensed CAMRA clubs in the UK and we are the first Club ever to win three times!
Visiting the Clubhouse: Please bring your Motor Club/CAMRA membership card or electronic version with you. Guests are allowed, but there is a temporary day membership fee of £2 and after 3 separate visits by a guest you will be asked to formally join.
Pool & Darts
We have our own Darts and Pool teams in the Cheltenham Leagues.
Wheel Ale Festival
A regular event on the Club calendar, this year it has moved to 22 June.
With a large selection of cask & key-keg beers, a BBQ or pop-up food van and covered outdoor seating, it’s always a nice party atmosphere.
Entry is free to Club members, but members of the public may be asked to purchase tickets beforehand.
Magic Bus
Minibus or Coach outings visiting local Cotswold pubs and breweries, usually on a Tuesday evening once a month during the summer.
Sometimes we run longer, all day trips (normally on a Saturday) to beer festivals and pubs that are further afield (e.g.- the Black Country, Forest of Dean) and to the Great British Beer Festival in London (which is normally on a weekday). These trips are very popular, so you will need to book early to avoid disappointment.
Charabanc Tours
Occasional days out for club members, family and friends, to a motoring / motorsport, engineering or historical place of interest (e.g.- Drakelow Tunnels, Kinver Edge, Morgan Cars Factory, Bicester Heritage, Oxford), followed by a beer and meal on the way home.
These trips are also very popular, so you will need to book early to avoid disappointment.
